Chapter 609 - 580: Photos
After the major anomaly scan was done, the nurse told Simon Forrester and his wife to pick up the DVD and the 4D photos in an hour.Simon Forrester helped Sienna Thornton out of the ultrasound room and went to Joyce Sutton for some routine checkups.
Joyce Sutton measured Sienna Thornton’s abdominal circumference and weight, looked at the ultrasound images on the computer, and smiled, "The baby is healthy and doing well."
"Can we tell if it’s a boy or a girl?"
Simon Forrester suddenly asked, to which Joyce Sutton just smiled, "I can’t see the baby’s gender from here."
Sienna Thornton frowned at him, "Did you forget what I just told you?"
Simon Forrester originally wanted Joyce Sutton to ask the ultrasound doctor, but his wife’s words stopped him, and he awkwardly shut his mouth.
Sienna Thornton turned to Joyce Sutton, smiling, "Dr. Sutton, is there anything else we should pay attention to?"
"The baby will grow quite fast from now on, and you might experience some calcium deficiency. You can eat more calcium-rich foods like soy products, meat, eggs, and milk, or consider taking prenatal calcium supplements."
Sienna Thornton noted everything down, "Okay, thank you, Dr. Sutton."
Joyce Sutton smiled and nodded, "You’re welcome."
Since many other pregnant women were waiting outside, Sienna Thornton didn’t want to hold up Joyce Sutton for too long and quickly left the consultation room with Simon Forrester.
The two of them returned to the ultrasound department, and as they passed the radiology department, they suddenly saw a group of doctors in white coats hurrying down the corridor from the other side.
Sienna Thornton recognized the person at the front as Zion Quincy and felt a surge of joy, exclaiming, "Zion!"
Zion Quincy was instructing his assistant when he heard the voice. He looked up, saw her, quickened his pace, nodded to Simon Forrester, and smiled, "Here for the major anomaly scan today?"
Sienna Thornton smiled, "Yes, it’s done. We’re about to pick up the DVD and report now."
Zion Quincy nodded and seemed about to say something when his assistant quietly reminded him, "Director Quincy, the patient is waiting."
"You go ahead, I’ll be right there."
He then asked Sienna Thornton, "Is there any discomfort? Do you still feel nauseous?"
"I stopped feeling nauseous before four months, everything’s normal now."
"Alright, call me if you need anything."
"Okay, you should go now."
After he left, Simon Forrester put his arm around Sienna Thornton’s shoulder, continuing toward the ultrasound department. He didn’t speak at first, but after a while, he suddenly asked in a chilling tone, "How did he know we were here for the major anomaly scan today?"
"He guessed, I suppose."
"Guessed?" Simon Forrester glanced back at the white coat disappearing into the distance, "Is this guy keeping track of your due date too?"
Sienna Thornton was momentarily speechless and ignored him.
After walking a bit more, Simon Forrester asked again, "Does this guy have a girlfriend yet?"
"I don’t know."
"Harrison Rowe’s sister hasn’t gotten married either; maybe we could set them up?"
"You must be really idle?" Sienna Thornton rolled her eyes at him, "Your mom is still waiting for your decision, don’t keep her waiting too long."
"I almost forgot..." He didn’t forget; he just didn’t want his parents to divorce too quickly.
They went to the ultrasound department and soon got the 4D ultrasound report and DVD, along with the six photos Simon Forrester had been longing for.
The photos were set against a black background, showing the baby’s flesh-colored face. The baby snuggled against the uterine wall, sleeping with eyes closed. You could see the high nose, sharp chin, small mouth, and deep eye sockets.
Sienna Thornton immediately noticed the baby looked like Simon Forrester.
Simon Forrester saw it too, quite pleased, in a great mood, and eager to share his joy, he said, "Let’s have lunch at the old house!"
Thinking that Zane Forrester might still be at the old house, Sienna Thornton felt uncomfortable and worried that Simon Forrester might argue with Zane Forrester again, so she said, "Your dad should still be at the old house. Are you sure you want to go?"
Simon Forrester snapped back to reality, and at a red light, he called the old house. Hearing that Zane Forrester had gone out to meet friends and wasn’t at home, he sneered at the phone, "He dares to go out and meet people with that face?"
Perhaps scolded by Elder Forrester, he hung up after a while.
"My dad’s not there, let’s go." Simon Forrester smiled, "I want to find some photos from when I was little; the album is at Grandpa’s."
The two soon arrived at the Forrester Family’s old house. Old Master Forrester was practicing Tai Chi in the inner courtyard. Seeing his pregnant granddaughter-in-law arriving, he quickly stopped, smiled, and led her into the living room.
"Has my great-grandchild been behaving recently?" the old master asked, staring fondly at Sienna Thornton’s slightly protruding belly, "Does it kick a lot?"
Sienna Thornton instinctively placed her hand on her baby bump, "I find this little one to be a night owl too. Often kicks so much at night that I can’t sleep, and now, close to noon, it’s so quiet, sleeping in."
"Jules was the same when he was young, loved stargazing in the courtyard at night, staying up late, then sleeping till noon the next day."
Recalling the past, Old Master Forrester let out a long sigh, "He said the brightest star was him, and the two closest ones were Grandpa and Mom. So I asked him, what about Dad? He pointed to a dimmer, distant star and said it was his dad... sigh... their father-son relationship has always been thin..."
Sienna Thornton listened intently, quite touched as well.
With Zane Forrester’s recent troubles, Simon Forrester’s disdain for him was almost visible on his face, showing their mediocre father-son bond. One wonders if Zane Forrester regrets forsaking nurturing a relationship with his son for the sake of his career in his younger years.
While she was lost in thought, Simon Forrester brought over a few photo albums.
The old man saw them and curiously asked, "What are you doing with the photo albums?"
"Looking for some old photos." Simon Forrester said, sitting down beside Sienna Thornton, and started flipping through the albums one by one.
Sienna Thornton also looked at the photos with him.
The photos in these albums were organized according to Simon Forrester’s growing stages. They started from the top, first seeing the photos from his university days.
The young man in the photo wore a down coat and jeans, a black knitted hat, his nose red from the cold, hands in pockets, striking a cool pose, standing for a photo with London Bridge.
Flipping through a few pictures, he had the same expression in all of them, and Sienna Thornton couldn’t help but laugh, "Were you this full of yourself when you just started university?"
Old Master Forrester leaned over to look and laughed, "Those were photos of Jules when he first went to Britione for study. He didn’t like taking photos, just forced himself to take a few to send home, always with a sour face, made me worry if he was unhappy there every time I saw the photos."
Sienna Thornton covered her mouth, snickering quietly.
Having been with Simon Forrester for over four years, even though he seldom took the initiative to take photos, whenever she felt a whim to take a picture, with the phone’s front camera open, he would naturally look at the lens to take selfies with her.
.
As they continued looking through the photos, they saw Simon Forrester during his middle school, elementary school, and finally his baby stages.
