Chapter 479 - 481: Wedding Extra (Conclusion)
Finally, Nathan Lynch gave Jared Woods an idea: "If you want to eat delicious food all the time, you should marry a chef when you grow up."
Jared Woods’s eyes lit up, but a hint of doubt remained. He mumbled under his breath, "A chef... but is a chef’s cooking as good as Aunt Kenway’s?"
Nathan Lynch thought back carefully to the delicious meals Naomi Kenway had cooked, then shook his head. "I don’t know for sure, but chefs are definitely better at cooking than most people!"
Jared Woods nodded, his mind seemingly made up. "Then I’m going to find a chef to marry! They’ll make me delicious food every day!"

The wedding soon began. Though a father would typically walk his daughter down the aisle, the circumstances were special. This time, Rose Kenway held Naomi Kenway’s hand, walking her down the aisle to place her hand in Ethan Shaw’s.
Rose Kenway’s eyes were already brimming with tears. She gazed at the scene she had dreamt of countless times and said, her voice choked with emotion, "Ian, I’m entrusting my daughter to you now. You must take good care of her!"
Visibly moved, Ethan Shaw nodded with deep sincerity. "Mom, please don’t worry. I will absolutely take good care of Nina."
Naomi Kenway’s eyes grew moist as well, but this was one of the happiest moments of her life.
Ethan Shaw took out a handkerchief and gently wiped the tears from the corners of Naomi Kenway’s eyes. "Don’t cry," he said, his heart aching for her.
Soon, it was time for the next part of the ceremony. Ian, dressed in a smart little white suit with a tie at his chest, looked every bit the charming little prince. Acting as the ring bearer, he ran over to his mom and dad with the rings.
Naomi Kenway opened her arms, pulling him into a hug and stroking his hair. "Slow down. What if you’d fallen?"
Seeing Ian, the emcee smiled and handed him the microphone, asking how he felt about attending his parents’ wedding.
Ian gripped the microphone, which was thicker than his wrist. Though his voice was still that of a little boy, his words were clear. He stood up straight, poised and at ease. "I’m very, very happy to be at my mom and dad’s wedding, because I know a lot of kids don’t get to attend their parents’ weddings, but I was lucky enough to get this chance. I hope my mom and dad will always be happy and in love, and that our family will be happy forever..."
Watching the small figure speaking up front, Naomi Kenway and Ethan Shaw both broke into a smile.
The emcee laughed. "All right, I’m sure little Ian’s wish will come true!"
After reciting their vows, it was time to exchange rings. Naomi Kenway could feel Ethan Shaw’s fingers trembling slightly.
She wrapped her warm, soft hand around his large one, her voice full of mirth. "You still get nervous so easily."
Amidst the cheers and blessings of the crowd, Ethan Shaw leaned down and kissed Naomi Kenway’s lips. It was a lingering, gentle kiss.
A montage of memories flashed through Naomi Kenway’s mind. The past replayed like a fleeting slideshow, finally freezing on this single, blissful moment.
Ethan Shaw’s gaze softened, his heart pounding fiercely in his chest. "I love you."
Naomi Kenway smiled. "I love you too, Ethan Shaw..."
The love that passed between their eyes was as thick and sweet as honey.

Down in the audience, Rose Kenway watched with a constant, gentle smile on her lips.
Leo Lennox stood beside her. "This is wonderful. Nina has found someone who truly loves her."
"Yes, it truly is."
"What are your plans now?" Leo Lennox asked. "Is your trip around the world still on?"
Rose Kenway nodded. "Yes. The next stop is Provincia."
"Can I come with you? I mean..." Leo Lennox hesitated. "Your leg hasn’t fully recovered, and I’d like to stay by your side to monitor your condition. And... I’ve also longed to see Provincia for ages, but I’ve never had the chance to go. So... if you don’t mind, could I tag along?"
Rose Kenway didn’t reply, appearing to seriously consider his proposal. Just as Leo Lennox’s heart was about to leap into his throat, he heard her ask with a smile, "Are you nervous?"
"A little."
After those words were spoken, both of them froze for a moment. It reminded them of a time when a younger Leo Lennox was facing an extremely difficult surgery that could have ended his career. When he had been overcome with anxiety, it was Rose Kenway who had stayed by his side to comfort him.
Rose Kenway snapped back to the present, a smile playing on her lips. "If you don’t mind that I walk at a turtle’s pace, then let’s go together."
A flicker of excitement lit up Leo Lennox’s eyes, and he nodded again and again.
Rose Kenway couldn’t help but smile at his reaction. She wasn’t one to harbor regrets or dwell on the past, but she sometimes found herself wondering. ’If I had understood Leo Lennox’s feelings for me thirty years ago... if I hadn’t been fooled by Jackson Kensington’s silver tongue... what would things be like for us now?’
In all the time they had spent together recently, neither of them had mentioned their past affections. They shared a tacit understanding, because they both knew that nothing was more precious than enduring companionship.

During the final bouquet toss, Clay Yates, who was standing beside Jenna Shaw, deftly snatched the bouquet thrown by Naomi Kenway right out from a crowd of bridesmaids. He was ecstatic, raising the bouquet high. "I caught it! I caught it! I’m the next bride! No, I mean, the groom!"
Everyone around them burst out laughing.
Jenna Shaw was exasperated. "Clay Yates, what are you doing? Why did you catch it?"
Clay Yates held the bouquet out to Jenna Shaw. "Because I want to marry you, and I can’t wait any longer."
His expression was completely earnest. "Jenna, I want to marry you..."
Seeing his serious expression, Jenna Shaw froze for a second. "Is this...?"
Clay Yates promptly dropped to one knee. He pulled a diamond ring he’d long had ready from his pocket. "I’ve been preparing for this day for so long. I want to marry you, build a family with you, and be with you forever."
Cheers erupted from the crowd. "Marry him! Marry him! Marry him!"
On the stage, Naomi Kenway nudged Ethan Shaw’s shoulder, smiling and gesturing for him to look. Then she joined the crowd in chanting, "Marry him!"
Ian gasped in surprise. "Auntie’s getting married too!"
Jenna Shaw glanced around, her cheeks flushing. "What are you doing? This is so sudden... Why didn’t you tell me beforehand? I... I’m not prepared..."
"You don’t need to be prepared, Jenna. Just follow your heart. Will you marry me?"
As Jenna Shaw looked at Clay Yates gazing up at her, holding out the diamond ring with an expression of pure sincerity, her heart stirred.
After her last failed relationship, it was Clay Yates who had shown her what a normal, sweet romance was like. She finally understood that love wasn’t a one-woman show; pestering someone endlessly was useless. Love required a mutual journey, with both people moving toward each other.
She was grateful it wasn’t too late when she finally understood this.
Jenna Shaw held out her hand and said, word by word, "I... do."
"Clay Yates, I will marry you!"
Amidst the joyous laughter, an air of pure happiness filled the venue.
