Chapter 1090 - 1061: Assassin’s Battle (Part 1)
Xiao Lin furrowed his brow. The appearance of the clown with a seventh-level code made him turn around and rush back without thinking, as the sounds of fighting upstairs distracted him. But to his surprise, the bodyguard tangled with Mr. Su was not one of Black Crow’s men, and he instantly felt relieved.
"Are you okay?" Xiao Lin asked the bodyguard, watching him swiftly use a dagger to stab the assassin’s head from above, killing him instantly, before turning his gaze to him as an observer.
"You knew it was me?" The bodyguard wiped his dagger on the deceased’s body a few times before tossing it to Xiao Lin, feeling unaccustomed to using it and lacking any sense of weight. "You can come out now!"
"Are they all dead?" Mr. Su still dared not crawl out from under the coffee table, far from resembling a drug lord at the moment, which seemed laughable.
"Mr. Su?" Xiao Lin propped one foot against the door as he looked at the person being pulled out by the bodyguard. "There are still two more outside. If you answer my question now, you can leave safely!"
"Who are you?" Mr. Su looked somewhat displeased at his own bodyguard for being so unguarded against a stranger.
"Someone beneficial to you." Xiao Lin leaned against the door, the usual noise much quieter, so he turned his gaze to another exit besides this door. "If I were you, I’d stay away from that balcony."
This remark did alert the drug lord. His movement appeared less clumsy as he genuinely moved towards the door. "You’re not an ally of that guy named Wang? What’s your purpose?"
"In a way, we’re people on the same front. Wang Zhanting can betray his own brother and is even more covetous of the drugs in your hands. If he doesn’t manage to take you out this time, he’ll try again next time. From what I know of him, he wouldn’t be this blatant without backing. Mr. Su, how confident are you in your subordinates’ ability to deal with Black Crow, who works for the big shot behind Wang Zhanting?"
Mr. Su’s pupils contracted; his shrewd eyes moved faster than his head. For people like him, Xiao Lin didn’t really intend to lend a hand. The fewer such people in the world, the better. He didn’t oppose Wang Zhanting killing this guy, but when comparing, those who fear death are easier to handle than those who don’t.
"I’m a straightforward person. Is your purpose also the goods in my hands?"
"I’m not interested in your drugs, but if you do as I say, the drug line in Sicily is still yours. My target is Wang Zhanting. Which side do you want to stand on?"
"You said you could take out Wang Zhanting. Why should I believe you?"
Ha! Xiao Lin chuckled lightly as he left the door. Under the night, the flickering shadows were invisible to ordinary people. By the time Mr. Su uttered his second line, the silhouette that swept past from the balcony had already entered his view. "Heading west from the main path is Robert’s hideout. If you leave now, you might encounter police cars."
The bodyguard timely pulled Mr. Su up. Before Xiao Lin took action, the two had already reached the door. Just as they stood, two strangely shaped hexagonal star-like nails fell to the ground.
"DOMO!" The bodyguard exclaimed, looking at Xiao Lin with surprise.
"Go!" Xiao Lin also hesitated for a moment before shouting to the two behind him while darting towards the balcony.
DOMO, a legendary figure or a group, Xiao Lin’s concept of this name was vague, but now he had a determined will to kill.
In the breeze, a tall and slender figure stood on the balcony railing. The light from inside stretched the man’s silhouette even longer, unlike the person in the hospital. Judging from the physique, he might be another DOMO, but the darts used were identical.
Xiao Lin didn’t act rashly; he quietly stared at the person who stood there, ready to strike forcefully at any moment.
DOMO looked at Mr. Su, his cold and stern gaze seemingly freezing anyone in its path. He gave no regard to the person blocking his way.
Soon, as Xiao Lin turned back, another figure dressed in black appeared to his right. He felt a stir inside, gradually sensing the formidable strength of this sudden arrival. Xiao Lin slowly assessed the second silhouette, though quite different in aura from DOMO, confirming that this was the person who appeared before Moro’s hospital bed, the one organized by Raphael to kill Moro.
"DOMO!" When he slowly uttered the names, the short dagger in Xiao Lin’s hand began to spin. He paused, emitting a dull and pressing aura, then suddenly stepped forward with a muffled thud, lunging towards the black-clad man on the left. In this narrow space, the light drew a faint but noticeable line of attack, which made the nearby bodyguard pause for a second. Xiao Lin seemed to have improved since last time, thinking quietly as he glanced at his boss. "Apart from him, there’s no one else who can offer you a safer path."
Mr. Su nodded inexplicably, not knowing whether he was dazed by his bodyguard’s words or changed his mind after witnessing Xiao Lin’s prowess.
As Xiao Lin moved suddenly, the shadow to his right also let out a cold hum, its body moving instinctively, launching forward in a semi-circle arc. The blade pointed directly at Xiao Lin’s bodyguard behind him, the force not as terrifying as Xiao Lin’s, but still capable of unsettling the bodyguard’s heart.
To avoid distracting Xiao Lin because of them, the bodyguard struck his boss with a heavy blow, knocking him unconscious on the ground, then kicked the sofa to the doorway to block the exit and hid his boss in the corner, ready to face the incoming attack.
"Lao Jiu!" Xiao Lin shouted, more accurately, he roared.
"Leave the one on the right to me!" The bodyguard next to Mr. Su was none other than the City Lord of the immediate underground city, Lao Jiu. His expertly crafted human skin mask was convincing enough to be mistaken for the real thing, if not for Flame, Xiao Lin wouldn’t have noticed the flaw.
Feeling the sudden oppressive presence and icy, piercing, sharp intent, Xiao Lin was slightly surprised. This was one of the strongest opponents he’d ever encountered, different from Lucifer. Such genuine intent to kill hadn’t been felt so intensely from those other guys before. Precisely because of this, Xiao Lin restrained himself over and over again. But the person before him was different, the frosty killing aura seemed powerful enough to crush the air itself, preventing any chance of ignoring it. (To be continued.
