Chapter 612 - 583: Your Belly Is Really Beautiful

Sylvia Langley eventually ended up separating from Zane Forrester, with one of them going back to Franland and the other returning to the United States. When Simon Forrester heard the news from Old Master Forrester, he actually felt a sense of relief. This issue had been dragging on for half a year and needed a resolution, regardless of what the result might be.In early July, Quentin Thorne and Melinda Linton went to the civil affairs bureau to register their marriage. Quentin, who prides himself on believing in science and rejecting superstition, actually had Old Master Forrester choose the wedding date for him, as well as a date for the reception.

On the day of the reception, all the relatives from the Thorne Family were present, and Simon Forrester and his wife naturally attended too. However, Mina Thorne was absent, with only Seth Sutton coming alone.

Everyone knew Mina Thorne was opposing the marriage through her actions. Quentin was well aware of this, but he was determined not to give up becoming Melinda Linton’s legal husband because of her opposition.

That evening, everyone gathered at a hotel in Brimfield for a simple dinner and drinks, wishing Quentin Thorne and Melinda Linton a happy marriage and longevity, considering it a low-key wedding.

Sienna Thornton felt somewhat conflicted about her parents’ union.

She had always been accustomed to relying on Melinda Linton, with each being the closest person to the other in the world. But now that Melinda Linton and Quentin Thorne had reconciled, the marital relationship would naturally take precedence over the parent-child relationship.

Her parents would have their own life, discussing things together and possibly keeping secrets from her. She might find certain things less worrisome, but she still felt a bit empty for now.

However, seeing her parents’ happiness, watching them drink the toast under the blessings of others, she eventually felt happiness outweigh the melancholy as she leaned against Simon Forrester’s shoulder, tears welling in her eyes.

Noticing her tears, Simon Forrester lowered his head to kiss them away.

She held his hand tightly, sobbing as she spoke to him, "I feel like I’m dreaming; slap me to see if it hurts."

He couldn’t bear to slap her...

The relatives were all watching Quentin Thorne and Melinda Linton, who had been in love for half a lifetime but only now had their belated wedding. No one noticed Simon Forrester kissing his almost full-term yet weeping and laughing wife.

...

A month before the due date, Sienna Thornton’s body became extremely uncomfortable, with frequent shortness of breath, frequent urination, poor sleep at night, and easily having nightmares. No position seemed comfortable for her. Simon Forrester documented all these changes and printed them out to take to Dr. Sutton at the hospital.

Receiving the densely written document, Joyce Sutton paused for a moment before quickly flipping through several pages. The document detailed the changes in the pregnant woman’s diet, sleep, emotions, and sensations over time.

Joyce Sutton understood and asked with a smile, "Who recorded this document?"

Sienna Thornton pointed to Simon Forrester, "I told him it wasn’t necessary, just verbal communication with the doctor would suffice, but he insisted on making this document. I’m sorry, Dr. Sutton, for wasting your time."

Joyce Sutton laughed, "In all my years as an obstetrician, this is the first time I’ve received such a document from a soon-to-be father."

Simon Forrester smiled faintly, without saying anything.

Joyce Sutton took her time to examine the document carefully and offered her professional advice.

After leaving the hospital, Simon Forrester took Sienna Thornton back to her parental home for eating and resting, while he went to the mall to buy the items Joyce Sutton had recommended: such as oxygen for pregnant women, sleep pillows, and so on. He bought two sets of each item, placing one at The Springs Residences and bringing the other back to The Fenmore Villa.

When he returned to pick up Sienna Thornton, he didn’t mention much, but in the evening, when Sienna Thornton again complained of shortness of breath, he promptly provided her with the oxygen for pregnant women. As soon as she inhaled it, her breathing indeed became smoother.

While Sienna Thornton lay on the bed inhaling the oxygen, he brought her the washed and dried sleep pillow for pregnant women to hold, and then routinely used the heart rate monitor to listen to the baby’s heartbeat. After listening two or three times and confirming everything was fine, he went back to his own tasks. However, this time he didn’t work as late into the night as usual; he finished work early, took a bath, and went to bed.

Sienna Thornton laid on her side, hugging the sleep pillow, and squinted her eyes to rest. Simon Forrester lay beside her, embracing her from behind, his warm hand gently stroking her swollen pregnant belly.

"Shall I massage it with oil?" he leaned towards her neck and kissed her cheek.

She nodded with her eyes closed, and he turned around to retrieve a bottle of olive oil from the nightstand on his side of the bed and began applying it to her.

Throughout her pregnancy, she had been controlling her diet, eating only nutritious and healthy foods, focusing on quality over quantity. Furthermore, with a posterior uterus, her pregnancy wasn’t obvious. As a result, her nine-month pregnant belly appeared only six to seven months big. Unlike other expectant mothers who experience swelling and weight gain during pregnancy, she faced none of these issues and only had a protruding belly. Her limbs remained slender, and from behind, it was impossible to tell she was expecting.

However, because of this, Old Master Forrester expressed numerous concerns. Whenever she visited the old house, he would have the chef prepare a large table of meat, insisting that she eat more to aim for a hefty eight or nine-pound baby. She argued that the doctor advised that normal delivery is optimal and that the baby shouldn’t be too large, with six pounds being ideal. Old Master Forrester disagreed, dismissing the doctor as mediocre and claiming no pregnant woman should be advised against eating more. In his excitement, he proposed she move back to the old house so he could personally care for her and even suggested changing her doctor.

As a result, Sienna Thornton stopped visiting the old house, telling Simon Forrester that whereas others face mother-in-law issues, she faces grandfather-in-law issues.

Simon Forrester could only empathize helplessly, recalling when discussing the marriage arrangements, Quentin Thorne insisted to Old Master Forrester that the young couple should live independently rather than in the Forrester Family old house. Otherwise, based on Old Master Forrester’s initial plans, they would’ve lived there for a year post-marriage. Visiting periodically creates a sense of beauty from distance, allowing for harmonious relations, but living together day in and day out would surely prove challenging, not least Old Master Forrester’s habit of waking the grandson and granddaughter-in-law at six every morning. Long before any grandfather-in-law clashes occur, Simon Forrester himself would find such routines unbearable.

"Looking at your small belly, it’s hard to believe the baby is already over five pounds," Simon Forrester said as he poured olive oil into his palms, warming it before carefully applying his hands to Sienna Thornton’s belly, gently massaging.

Sienna Thornton lay comfortably, her hands behind her head, watching Simon Forrester apply the oil with a sweet smile on her face.

"Do you think, when it’s time to deliver in a month, she’ll be around six pounds?" she asked.

Simon Forrester hadn’t answered when she let out a soft "ouch," and simultaneously he felt a slight tender sensation in his palm.

"Did our daughter kick you?" He quickly leaned down to listen. Although he didn’t hear anything, he still spoke to Sienna Thornton’s belly, saying, "Hey, little one, why aren’t you sleeping so late?"

Sienna Thornton covered her mouth, laughing, "She can’t understand."

Simon Forrester insisted otherwise, speaking several words to the belly again. This time, a small bump appeared near Sienna Thornton’s navel.

He gingerly tapped the bump with his finger, quickly withdrawing his hand as the bump receded, only to rise again after a while.

He tapped it again, and the baby responded, both getting carried away with their playful interaction.

Sienna Thornton felt conflicted with the fetal movement, craning her neck, "Alright, our daughter keeps kicking me, and it’s getting uncomfortable."

Only then did Simon Forrester stop playing, continuing to massage the olive oil onto her belly.

He applied diligently, observing her belly carefully each time. Halfway through applying, he chuckled, "Your belly is so beautiful, without any stretch marks."
