Chapter 601 - 572: It’s a Boy
Chapter 601 - 572: It’s a Boy
Simon Forrester didn’t want to deal with their affairs, and shouted roughly: "This will be settled sooner or later! I don’t want to deal with it!" He hung up the phone, opened the door to the passenger seat, and let Sienna Thornton get in the car.Sienna Thornton saw his deeply furrowed brows and extremely agitated demeanor, and asked: "Who was on the phone? What’s going on?"
"Grandpa called," Simon Forrester started the car, "he said my father was taken away by my uncles and wants me to rescue him back home."
Sylvia Langley’s brothers found out about Zane Forrester’s scandal in February, and with Zane hiding in the United States afraid to come back, they didn’t catch him then. They anticipated Zane would return for Qingming Festival to pay homage to ancestors, used some tactics to get Zane’s flight details, and ambushed him at the airport, capturing Zane along with his luggage right as he exited.
Old Master Forrester waited at the old residence until nightfall for his son. Feeling something was amiss, he quickly called his son. As soon as the call connected, even before hearing Zane’s voice, all he heard was a series of pig-like wails.
The old man sensed it but, at over eighty, his frail body wasn’t up for a long journey, let alone confronting Sylvia’s brothers alone to reclaim his son. He didn’t have the face for it either and hurriedly made a call to have his grandson rescue Zane.
However, Simon Forrester didn’t want to get involved in this mess.
The black Maybach blended into Brimfield’s bustling vehicle stream, almost ready to head onto the highway when another call came from the old residence. Seeing it’s from the butler, Simon Forrester picked up: "Uncle Zeke?"
"Young master, the old master’s angina acted up, please come back quickly!"
"Did you call 911?" The car, already approaching the exit ramp, immediately swerved onto the side slip road, "I’ll be there in half an hour. Call for the ambulance first! Quickly!"
The butler on the other end replied with a couple of ’ayes’ before hanging up.
Simon Forrester pressed harder on the gas, speeding toward the old residence.
Sienna Thornton felt her temples throb and turned to glance at Simon Forrester, noticing his expression wasn’t any better. She hesitated over whether to ask about his family issues but chose silence after a moment’s indecision.
Luckily there were few cars on the road tonight, and although it was supposed to take half an hour to get to the old residence, Simon Forrester drove quickly and arrived in twenty minutes.
The two disembarked and hurried into the entrance.
Only then did Sienna Thornton lower her voice to ask: "Does Grandpa usually have heart issues?"
"No."
Sienna Thornton felt relieved, whispering reassurance: "Then it shouldn’t be serious, perhaps it’s just extreme anger affecting his heart. As his moods calm, he should be okay."
Melinda Linton had a chronic heart condition, making Sienna Thornton more familiar with cardiac ailments than most. When she heard Old Master Forrester had angina without a history of heart problems, she guessed it was a tactic to scare his grandson into submission.
As expected, when they entered the inner courtyard, they saw Old Master Forrester, who had been sitting drinking tea, throw his teacup and collapse onto the wooden sofa at an impressive speed.
Simon Forrester saw this, his fast-paced urgency slowed down for a moment, then hastened again, running towards the living room.
Sienna Thornton quickly followed inside, her face turning pale from anxiety as well.
Old Master Forrester lay on the sofa, groaning, the half-drunk tea discarded beside him, splashing several large and small orangish-yellow spots onto the red silk sofa cushion.
Simon Forrester picked up his phone, pretended to dial loudly: "Hello? 911? There’s an elderly person here with angina, about to be..."
Before he finished speaking, Old Master Forrester had already sat up from the sofa, with an almost tiger-like shock, his stout body shot to Simon Forrester’s side, and he snatched the phone away.
Simon Forrester nonchalantly looked at the elder: "Still having angina? Moving so nimbly?"
Old Master Forrester snorted, stuffing the phone back into Simon Forrester’s pocket, turned his back: "Your father has been kidnapped by your bandit uncles, aren’t you worried at all?" This time admitting to faking illness.
"For someone who’s been in a U.S. prison, would he fear my uncles?"
This comment from Simon Forrester nearly made the old master, who felt sorry for his son suffering in jail, pass out. The elder turned red, faced Simon Forrester angrily: "So what now? You don’t care whether your father lives or dies?"
"Isn’t a free life lesson good for him?" Simon Forrester went to hold Sienna Thornton’s hand, "Alright, let’s go home."
Sienna Thornton glanced at Old Master Forrester. Though angry, his complexion was still fine, presumably aware Sylvia’s brothers wouldn’t do anything serious to Zane.
Sienna Thornton nodded slightly at the elder: "Grandpa, we’re heading home. See you tomorrow."
The sudden sound of her voice reminded Old Master Forrester of the little one in his granddaughter-in-law’s belly. His expression quickly softened, and he smiled, walking them out, asking all the way about Sienna Thornton’s recent health, whether she felt fetal movements, and if the great-grandchild was well-behaved. Sienna Thornton was both amused and helpless, but played along, joking that the child was a bit mischievous, with frequent fetal movements.
The old master was delighted, exclaiming: "He’s carrying! He’s carrying!" as if he’d forgotten his son was still in someone else’s hands.
.
On the way back, Sienna Thornton tentatively asked: "Aren’t you worried about your dad?"
"Nothing to worry about. He’s made such a big mess this time, even betraying my mom. He deserves to learn a lesson."
"How do you think your uncles will handle him?"
Simon Forrester chuckled: "Probably scold him until he questions his existence, then maybe throw a few punches."
Sienna Thornton immediately recalled the way Sylvia Langley had disciplined Jane Jefferson before, thinking Zane would probably endure some physical hardship this time as well.
The two returned to Fenmore Hill, stopped concerning themselves with those matters, sorted the evening’s purchases into packages, showered, and embraced each other into bed.
She was five months pregnant now, having reconciled with Simon Forrester since returning from the United States in early February. During this special period, Simon was extremely careful and tender with her, and they both experienced a particularly unique sensation.
.
The next morning, they returned to the old residence to pick up Old Master Forrester for the tomb-sweeping and ancestor commemoration at the family home.
In the car, Old Master Forrester kept calling Zane, only to hear that his phone was off. The elder was agitated, pacing anxiously, while Sienna Thornton comforted him, suggesting Zane might have turned off his phone due to not charging it last night.
The group arrived in Linden, and as they met Forrester relatives at the cemetery. Noticing Zane missing, although aware of his trouble in the United States, they pretended to express concern under the guise of curiosity.
Simon Forrester wore sunglasses with a face that said ’keep away’, pulled Sienna Thornton aside for a quiet chat, leaving Old Master Forrester to deal with the curious relatives.
After some time, Bianca Fordham’s family and Grandma Forrester arrived, finally allowing Old Master Forrester to escape from the chatter and speculations.
Always the straight-backed, loud-spoken one among the brothers, Old Master Forrester was noticeably subdued this time due to his son’s disgraceful deeds in the U.S., rendering him both silent and sympathetic.
"Big brother, is that your wife’s car?" Fourth Master Forrester suddenly shouted, "White BMW with four sixes as the license plate!"
Dozens of eyes turned to look. As the car drew closer, they all saw Sylvia Langley driving with Zane Forrester in the passenger seat.
Zane Forrester’s face seemed somehow different from usual...
