Chapter 216: Awakening and Breaking the Stalemate of Fate
Chapter 216: Awakening and Breaking the Stalemate of Fate
The words had barely left his lips when the Arbiter's figure suddenly transformed into a streak of starlight and vanished from his spot. His speed was astonishing; he appeared behind Isaac almost in the blink of an eye. He raised his scepter high, unleashing an unparalleled pressure, and struck Isaac with tremendous force.
"Isaac, watch out!" Mira shouted.
Isaac swiftly turned, using the Blade of Rules to block the scepter's heavy blow. But the Arbiter's power was simply too great; the shockwave sent him flying dozens of steps back. Isaac barely managed to regain his footing, his hands numb, and the light on the Blade of Rules dimmed somewhat.
“Your power is indeed great, but power is not the only means to control destiny!” Isaac said coldly, his eyes filled with determination.
The Arbiter did not respond, but instead waved his scepter again. This time, his movement was clearly probing; the trajectory of the light was not a direct attack, but rather it traced a complex symbol in the air. This symbol instantly merged into the star map, causing a violent tremor.
As the symbols merged, the cracks on the star map began to expand rapidly, and the cracks that had been temporarily suppressed by the observer spiraled out of control once more. The power surging from the cracks became even more violent, and each crack was like a portal to an unknown abyss, constantly devouring the surrounding space.
"Arbitrator, what are you doing!" The observer's voice was filled with anger. He tried to stabilize the crack with his own power, but the power was like a wild horse that had broken free of its reins and was completely out of control.
The Arbiter sneered, "The crack is the truth of destiny. Only by fully unleashing its power can the universe return to balance. Observer, your struggle is futile."
As Isaac watched the crack expand wildly, a sense of unease welled up within him. He could sense that the power surging from the depths of the crack was not merely the energy of the chaotic core, but also the gradual awakening of something far more dangerous.
“We can’t let the cracks keep widening!” Isaac shouted to Mira. “These cracks will devour everything!”
Mira nodded and rushed towards the center of the star map with Isaac. Their Blades of Rules and Blades of Light erupted with intense light, attempting to seal the cracks. However, no matter how hard they tried, the cracks seemed to be constantly drawing energy from the outside world, growing stronger and stronger.
“The power of these cracks… seems to be responding to some kind of call,” Mira said, frowning. “They seem to be waiting for something.”
"Waiting?" Isaac paused, suddenly remembering the existence of the Chaos Core. He turned sharply to look at the Chaos Core floating on the other side.
The halo of the chaotic core was spinning rapidly, its aura becoming increasingly violent, and the energy from the fissures was converging towards it. It seemed to have become the center of these fissures, absorbing all energy in preparation for some unknown purpose.
"The Chaos Core!" Isaac shouted. "What exactly are you plotting?"
The voice of the Chaos Core was deep and profound: "Plotting? Don't you understand? These cracks are not simple collapses, but fissures in a multidimensional universe. They are summoning a far more ancient power, a power far beyond your comprehension."
Upon hearing this, the Arbiter sneered: "Chaos Core, your ambitions will never be realized. I will destroy everything before it awakens."
The halo of the Chaos Core trembled slightly, its voice tinged with mockery: "Arbitrator, do you think you can stop all of this? Your so-called 'destruction' is nothing more than a tool for me to achieve my goal faster."
Hearing this, Isaac became even more vigilant. He gripped the Blade of Rules tightly and whispered to Mira, "We cannot allow the power in the rift to continue to gather, or the entire universe will be swallowed up."
Mira nodded, and the two simultaneously charged towards the center of the crack. However, just as they were about to reach the crack, an even more powerful force erupted from its depths, blasting them away.
When Isaac and Mira regained their footing, they saw a dazzling light suddenly erupt from the center of the rift. Within the light, a colossal shadow was slowly taking shape, larger than the core of chaos, and its aura even more terrifying.
“What is that…” Mira’s voice trembled.
The observer's expression turned extremely solemn: "This is the oldest existence in the multidimensional universe. It is a force beyond fate and chaos, called... Eternal Nothingness."
"Eternal nothingness?" Isaac repeated softly, gripping the Blade of Rules tightly, his eyes filled with determination. "Whatever it is, we must stop it!"
The Arbiter snorted coldly, pointing his scepter at the light and shadow: "This game should end now."
However, the aura of light and shadow grew stronger, and its appearance instilled a sense of powerlessness and fear in everyone. The trial before Isaac and Mira had entered an unprecedentedly difficult phase.
The outline of the eternal void grew clearer, its form seemingly pieced together from countless dimensional fragments, radiating an indescribable sense of oppression. The light within the cracks had become extremely dazzling, as if swallowing the entire star map. A deep hum emanated from the depths of the void, and the entire space seemed to tremble in response to the awakening of this being.
“Eternal nothingness…” The Fate Watcher’s voice held an unusual fear. “It is a force that neither fate nor chaos can control. If it is fully awakened, this multidimensional universe will cease to exist.”
The Chaos Core let out a low laugh: "That's precisely why it's necessary. Destruction is the prerequisite for rebirth."
"Shut up!" The Star Judge swung his scepter sharply, pointing it at the core of chaos. "Destruction will bring no meaning. I will end it."
However, the awakening of the eternal nothingness plunged the entire space into chaotic chaos. Neither the suppression of the observers of fate nor the attacks of the adjudicators could affect the rifts or the enormous ethereal form.
Isaac and Mira stood at the edge of the star map, feeling a deep sense of powerlessness.
“Isaac…” Mira gripped the light blade tighter, her voice trembling with unease, “How are we supposed to fight this thing? It doesn’t even belong to any rules…”
“Its existence is beyond our comprehension,” Isaac said softly, his gaze fixed on the depths of the crack, “but we cannot let it continue to devour us.”
Just then, several pitch-black tentacles suddenly shot out from the outline of eternal nothingness. They wriggled as if they were alive, quickly passing through the cracks and heading straight for the core of the star map.
"It's devouring the energy of the star chart!" the Fate Watcher warned loudly. "Once the star chart completely collapses, the barrier of the multidimensional universe will cease to exist, and its power will be fully unleashed!"
"We must not let it succeed!" Isaac roared, swinging the Blade of Rules as he charged toward the tentacles.
