Chapter 45 So who is Tony Stark?
Chapter 45 So who is Tony Stark?
"So... what is this?"
"Yage asked."
Clark looked back at Jaeger with a blank expression—even the Kryptonians didn't know?
Even the Poison Mist, with its vast knowledge base, was puzzled: "I've never seen anything like this before, Langdon."
Jaeger then tentatively knocked on it, producing two dull, metallic "clangs."
"This guy has a metal block with LED light strips embedded in his chest?!" Jaeger exclaimed in bewilderment. "Is this some new trend I'm unaware of?"
"I don't think there will be such a trend..." Clark said, sweating.
Just as Jaeger was striking the metal, a wisp of mist quietly seeped out and into the metal.
The toxic fog simultaneously launched an analysis: "Yager, this is not a decoration, but a miniaturized arc reactor... and it contains an incredibly large amount of energy."
"An arc reactor? Is it some kind of power supply device?" Jaeger asked.
"That's one way to understand it."
"But who would casually place something containing immense energy on their chest?" Jaeger pondered. "Could it be..."
"Could it be?" Clark heard the second half of Jaeger's sentence.
"Could it be that this is actually a robot, or android, disguised to look very real? After all, this person has an iron block in their chest, so maybe other parts of their body are also made of iron."
After stating his bold guess, Jaeger pinched the man's arm with a rigorous attitude of verification, and then withdrew his hand.
"Hmm...it doesn't seem so, after all, the skin texture is too realistic."
Clark watched as Jaeger nonchalantly pinched someone's arm, leaving a red welt: "..."
"How about this," Clark thought for a moment and asked, "that we can't get an answer to this problem right now unless this gentleman wakes up... So, should we continue to address his hypothermia?"
Jaeger pondered for a moment and nodded: "That's true. I'll go get some dry towels and call the ship's doctor to ask how to treat someone who has fallen into the water."
Just as the two finished discussing the division of labor, the person lying on the ground suddenly jolted awake and opened his eyes!
"Cough, cough, cough!"
The man coughed incessantly as soon as he got up, looking quite disheveled.
Jaeger and Clark exchanged glances, and Clark finally spoke first: "Sir, you're awake?"
Upon hearing this, the person who had fallen into the water seemed to finally realize that someone was nearby and turned around to look Clark up and down.
"You're the one who saved me?" he asked.
"To be precise, it was me and this Mr. Langdon," Clark said, for some reason. "Are you feeling better now?"
"...Not good, I'm freezing, and my mouth tastes salty." The man said bluntly, "The back of my head hurts too, did you bump it when you boarded the ship?...Wait, my arm also hurts a bit."
Clark couldn't help but glance at Jaeger.
Jaeger, however, remained remarkably calm, as if he hadn't done the two additional things the other person added later.
"Alright, thank you anyway. If you want autographs or photos, we have plenty." The man stood up, unabashedly showing his disgust as he took off his soaking wet jacket and draped it over his arm. "I was tracking down some rather troublesome creature, but my armor ran out of energy, and I ended up in the sea around here—excuse me, where is this place?"
The man probably thought he had made himself clear, but when he looked up, Jaeger and Clark both looked utterly bewildered.
Jaeger: "Armor?"
Clark: "A signature?"
The person: "..."
The man said, "Don't tell me you don't know who I am."
Jaeger really wanted to ask, "Yes, who are you?"
But to avoid appearing ignorant, he cautiously inquired about the poisonous fog first: "Who is he?"
The poisonous fog honestly replied, "I don't know it."
Finally, Jaeger felt more confident and looked sincerely back at the man: "So... who are you?"
The person: "..."
His expression shifted several times, then suddenly he seemed to realize something, revealing a thoughtful look: "Interesting... So that's how it is... That explains it..."
But before Jaeger could ask what the man was muttering about, the man suddenly reached out, grabbed Jaeger's hand, shook it, and flashed a smile that looked exactly like a playboy version of Bruce Wayne:
"It's okay, it's the same as getting to know each other now."
"I'm Tony, Tony Stark. Don't be nervous, I have some questions for you both."
