Chapter 43 Angels
Chapter 43 Angels
Turning his gaze away, Su Zixu seemed to have resigned himself to his fate.
He lay quietly on top of the shelf, apologizing to his parents and family in his heart as he awaited death.
Before long, the shelves began to shake violently. His survival instinct kicked in, and Su Zixu sat up.
He looked at the shelf next to him, which was a little far away, but if he stayed still, he would surely die.
Things couldn't get any worse, so he decided to take a gamble.
Su Zixu lowered his center of gravity and quickly walked to the end of the shelf.
After a few deep breaths, he took a running start at top speed, pushed off the ground with both feet, and leaped into the air.
My toes barely touched the edge of the shelf, but that was far from enough.
Su Zixu plummeted toward the ground, his foot striking the prisoner's head.
Su Zixu clung desperately to the edge of the shelf with his only remaining hand, struggling to hold on. But the shelf's surface was smooth; it was only a matter of time before he fell.
"If I had known this would happen, I should have exercised more regularly." Su Zixu knew at this point that there was no chance of turning the tide.
After apologizing to his parents and relatives in his heart once again, his aching arms could no longer support him, and he fell towards the ground.
The prisoners quickly buried him, pressing him down so hard he almost suffocated. Every part of his body began to burn with pain, as if his flesh was being peeled away bit by bit.
Having already lost a large amount of blood, Su Zixu could no longer hold on, and his consciousness began to dissipate.
Before his death, Su Zixu vaguely heard a song, the kind of lullaby for children, and the voice sounded like that of a child.
Immediately afterwards, Su Zixu vaguely realized that the feeling of his flesh being torn was decreasing and finally disappeared.
"An angel has come to take me away," he thought to himself, and then closed his eyes completely.
"Wake up, wake up!"
The sound grew closer as it approached, and Su Zixu's consciousness, guided by the sound, was gradually regrouping.
"Wake up, big brother! Hey! Wake up!"
The voice sounded a bit immature, and the tone was very anxious.
"Snapped!"
After a crisp sound, Su Zixu suddenly opened his eyes, then felt a burning sensation on his face.
He covered his face, his gaze falling on a small figure beside him.
"Why are angels hitting people?" Su Zixu blurted out without thinking.
"What do you mean by 'use' or 'don't use'? I am Liu Runyu."
"Brother Zixu, what are you doing in District Three? Why are you back again? I was so kind as to take you guys out last time."
Liu Runyu opened his big, innocent eyes and spoke in a child's voice.
"Liu Runyu... are you Liu Runyu from when you were a child?"
Su Zixu sat up, looked at the half-grown child in front of him, and asked.
"That's right. When you came last time, I was already split into two. Now this is the third, and what's worse, my memories have been transferred to this child."
Liu Runyu shook his head helplessly as he spoke.
"You have quite the composure, just obediently waiting to die." Su Zixu looked at Liu Runyu's indifferent expression and felt that his rescue was pointless.
A barely perceptible hint of melancholy flashed across Liu Runyu's eyes.
"I was planning to die. Just as I was about to jump into the elevator to commit suicide, I noticed someone had come in."
I adjusted my angle and looked for a long time, and when I realized it was you, I felt like living again.
"So the elevator stopped on the ninth floor because of you?" Su Zixu interjected.
"Yes, it's me."
"I was the one who saved you just now. I lured them into the elevator with my voice, and then they were all swallowed up by the elevator and sent to the basement."
As Liu Runyu spoke, a smug expression appeared on his face.
"You're the best."
Su Zixu affectionately patted the child's head. Although Liu Runyu possessed memories from his adulthood, his personality remained that of a child.
"Liu Runyu, hurry back into the mirror, I will find you."
Su Zixu gave the child a reassuring look.
As he slowly stood up, he looked down at his tattered clothes and the blood and flesh exposed by the tears.
Although there were many wounds, fortunately none of them were very deep.
After speaking with Liu Runyu when he was a child, Su Zixu took the key and went to the ninth floor first.
After carefully cleaning and bandaging the wound, he took the elevator to the seventh floor.
He needs to remove Liu Runyu's body from the jar.
This step didn't take much effort. After finding Liu Runyu, Su Zixu followed the method taught to him by Ron, drained the liquid from the tank, and then opened the hatch to pull Liu Runyu out.
During this time, he also discovered that several of the seven-layered tanks had explosives installed at the bottom.
Although Lao Zeng explained the bomb disposal method to him, he still didn't dare to do it himself. He planned to find Liu Runyu first, and then the two of them would study it together.
Since Su Zixu had lost his right arm, after realizing that he could not lift Liu Runyu with one hand, he went back to the ninth floor and brought over a hospital bed.
After several twists and turns, Su Zixu finally arrived at the sixth floor.
After trying several keys, Su Zixu finally entered room 607.
There were twelve pieces of equipment covered with white cloth in the room, arranged in a huge circle, with connecting wires scattered haphazardly on the floor.
Su Zixu stepped forward and removed the white cloths one by one, then walked to the very center of the circle.
Following Ron's instructions, Su Zixu aligned the blue connecting wires with the correct positions on the head and pierced them one by one.
Ron told him yesterday that if there is someone in the mirror, it will sense it when the connection wire is touched.
Finally, after trying them all, Su Zixu focused his attention on three of the mirrors.
He then inserted six red connecting wires into Liu Runyu's brain.
Immediately afterwards, he grabbed six blue wires and quickly connected them to his brain.
As the last thread pierced his brain, Su Zixu felt as if he had been pulled out of his body by some force, and he suddenly felt incredibly light.
After a moment of dizziness, a huge amusement park appeared before Su Zixu.
Su Zixu first looked down at his intact right arm, then moved his limbs a few times and found that all his injuries had been completely healed since he came in.
"The human soul cannot exist independently for long; it needs something to attach itself to as its foundation, otherwise it will soon dissipate."
"What does it usually attach to?"
"It could be his favorite thing or the thing that makes him feel safest. These things are all different, and you need to observe them yourself."
What will the split soul experience inside the device?
"They will repeat the experiences that frighten or hurt them the most, and those experiences will trigger negative emotions."
"If you realize something is wrong, you must quickly run in the opposite direction and try your best to use your mind to pull yourself out of there."
Recalling his conversation with Ron the previous night, Su Zixu strode quickly toward the amusement park.
"If it's an amusement park, then it's most likely something from when Liu Runyu was a child." Su Zixu pondered as he looked around.
"In this sad or rather frightening memory, what will Liu Runyu choose as his attachment?"
Or rather, what is the thing that brings him the most peace of mind in this amusement park?
The surroundings were filled with laughter and joy, and a pretty little girl was taking pictures on the magnificent carousel.
The roller coaster roared overhead, accompanied by the screams of children.
Couples at the photo spot leaned on each other's shoulders, while Su Zixu pouted.
Before he knew it, he had arrived at the foot of the Ferris wheel. After a moment's thought, he bought a ticket, wanting to look down and see if he could make any new discoveries.
Just as his private room rose into the air, Su Zixu felt a brief distortion before his vision cleared again.
However, at this moment, he found himself back at the entrance of the amusement park.
