I am the heroine's godfather!

Estia was somewhat bewildered; who exactly was the ruler of the royal court?

Loran wasn't surprised at all; he had visited the Demon Realm several times before and had met Diana a few times.

"Lady Lestinger, there are two more guests. Please follow me."

Diana didn't seem to recognize Estia and Loran, and led them to the royal palace.

The palace of Satan's court maintained the same rugged style as its exterior. The guards at the palace gates immediately bowed upon seeing Diana and Lesteen, barely daring to breathe. They only breathed a sigh of relief after the group entered the palace.

Upon entering the palace and arriving at Diana's office, Diana dismissed everyone before sighing and saying, "Your Majesty, are you wondering why I can't even tolerate the slightest mistake made by those two guards?"

"No, no, absolutely not!"

Lestinger quickly denied it, and Diana said with some helplessness, "No, you are clearly just wondering."

"Hahaha... I think maybe it's a bit of an overreaction, anyway, things have been very peaceful lately."

"No, their main problem isn't laziness, it's that I discovered it."

Diana explained, "If they slack off in private, I won't interfere too much, but if I find out, I absolutely cannot let it go, otherwise, these guys will probably disregard the rules and regulations."

"They dare!"

Lester slammed her fist on the table, but Diana sighed: "You can certainly punish them directly, but it's better to prevent it from happening in the first place than to try to fix it later."

"That's true..."

"So, who exactly is the ruler of the royal court?"

Estia couldn't hold back any longer and whispered her complaint to Loran, who couldn't help but laugh.

Diana then looked at the two people, and when she saw Estia, she paused for a second, seemingly hesitant, and asked, "Who are these two...?"

"Oh, Lorian and Estia."

Lester said it bluntly, leaving Estia somewhat bewildered, but Loran seemed to have anticipated it and dropped his pretense: "Long time no see, Diana."

"Lord Lorian?"

Diana was clearly surprised, but quickly recovered and looked at Estia: "I was wondering why this vampire looked so familiar. It turns out to be Lady Estia."

"Ah, hello."

Estia also removed her disguise.

After greeting them, Diana asked, somewhat confused, "What's going on here?"

Lester then revealed Lucifer's entire plan, which puzzled Estia, who whispered to Loran, "Isn't she afraid the news will leak out?"

"It can only be said that, in reality, Diana was the direct administrator of Satan's court."

Lorraine explained in a low voice, "Lestinger is the one who's in charge of fighting."

After hearing Lestinger's explanation, Diana's expression also turned serious: "No wonder, I've felt that those nobles have been acting strangely lately..."

"Your Majesty Diana!" A miner, his face covered in soot, suddenly rushed forward and knelt down. "The third mine has collapsed! Five brothers have been......"

Chapter 201 Sometimes, this is how the public's perception of the upper class is ruined.

"Lady Diana! The third mine has collapsed! Five brothers are trapped inside!"

The trembling voice of the miner kneeling echoed in the room, before the guards behind him stumbled in: "I'm sorry, Your Majesty Diana, I...we couldn't stop him..."

Diana ignored these trivial matters, abruptly standing up, her gaze behind her glasses sharp as a blade: "Third mine? How deep is the collapse? What's the state of the lava flow? Has the rescue team arrived?"

"Half of the branch tunnel collapsed... lava flowed into the main tunnel, and the brothers buried are in Sector E!" The miner's face was covered in soot and cold sweat, his fingers almost digging into his palms. He gritted his teeth: "The rescue team has arrived, but... but the supervisor is blocking them and won't let them in!"

"Who gave him the guts!"

Lestinger slammed her greatsword into the ground with a clang, her face contorted with rage: "Who's in charge of this mine?!"

"It is the high priest."

Diana gritted her teeth, and Lestinger's anger almost materialized: "How dare he!!! I'm going there myself right now!"

"Wait!" Diana grabbed her shoulder. "Breaking through the wall prematurely when the lava is flowing back in will cause a secondary collapse."

As she spoke, she looked at Loran and Estia: "Gentlemen, could you use magic to temporarily freeze the lava?"

Estia paused for a moment, then nodded: "I'll try... but it requires precise control."

"Lord Loran, please use magic to mark the location of the trapped person."

Diana spoke rapidly, then turned and grabbed a brass bell from the corner of the table, ringing it. A squad of Satanic guards clad in black armor instantly surged into the office.

"Seal off the mining area and evacuate non-rescue personnel. The medical team, with sufficient medication, must arrive at Zone E within three minutes!" She issued the orders swiftly, not daring to delay even for a moment.

The guards responded with a resounding roar.

The entrance to the third mine was filled with the pungent smell of sulfur, and dark red lava flowed through the cracks, making the rock walls look like the bloody maws of hell.

An obese Satanic figure dressed in luxurious clothes was blocking the rescue team's way: "No, no, no, you can't go in, you can't go in."

"Why can't we go in!"

The young demon in the rescue team shouted angrily, "Damn it, there are still people trapped inside!"

The families of the trapped demons cried out in anguish, "Please, save him! Save them!"

The crowd was kept at a distance by the guards. A Satanic woman, holding an infant, collapsed to the ground. The red glow of the lava made her face strewn with tears, which looked like blood. Her cries pierced the noise: "My husband is inside! You nobles only know how to force people to mine, you don't care about our lives at all!"

A young demon who looked no different from a human girl even knelt before the supervisor: "Please, let them go in and save people! My brother is so young, he shouldn't die in there!"

However, the supervisor ignored him and sneered, "Hmph! The High Priest himself gave the order: no one is allowed to enter!"

"Oh? I'll see if it's really not accurate!"

A voice, barely containing anger, rang out. Loran and his group arrived at the mining area and witnessed this scene. Diana immediately spoke up, but the supervisor only panicked for a moment before continuing, "Lady Diana, even if it's you, I can't let them pass. This is the High Priest's private mining area."

According to the laws of the Satanic Court since its inception, even the ruler of the court is not allowed to interfere with private property, so the supervisor still had the confidence to deal with Diana.

Unfortunately, such regulations are only effective for those who want to comply.

"Say that again, you fucking bastard!"

Lestinger roared, kicking the supervisor as her greatsword gleamed coldly: "Do you want to die?!"

"Lady Lala Lala Lala Stingel!"

The supervisor was speechless for a moment, trying to explain himself, but Lestinger was too lazy to listen to his excuses. The greatsword smashed down mercilessly, turning the supervisor's head into a bloody pulp.

Then, she looked at Loran and Estia: "Give me a hand!"

Loran nodded, then used magic to sense the miner's life traces.

"There's a life reaction in the third crevice from the left!" A silver light flashed at Loran's fingertips, and spatial ripples twisted in the high temperature. "But the lava flow is accelerating!"

Without much conversation, the fairy princess sprouted emerald green vines from her fingertips, their roots piercing into the cracks in the rock, weaving a net across the surface of the lava.

Then, frost spread along the vines, and the lava sizzled as it collided with the magic of nature.

Lestinger swung her greatsword at the boulder blocking her path: "Hold on, all of you!"

The giant sword, wreathed in crimson flames, crashed down with a deafening roar. As the rocks shattered, five miners, their bodies covered in burns, tumbled out of the dust and smoke. A medical team rushed forward, providing emergency treatment.

"Husband, husband!"

The woman staggered toward her husband on the stretcher, but Diana stopped her: "Madam, touching him now will worsen his injuries."

“What do you know!” she screamed, shaking off Diana’s hand. “If he dies, how will my children and I live? You high and mighty people—”

She suddenly fell silent. Yes, these were high and mighty figures. The people before her were important figures, even more important than the supervisor, even more important than the high priest the supervisor had mentioned!

He wouldn't even dare to mess with a mine supervisor, let alone those guys who could slaughter supervisors like poultry.

"Yes, I'm sorry, I just..."

The woman hugged her child tightly in fear, and the surrounding miners' families also looked at Diana with fear on their faces.

Based on what they saw, this woman is about to be punished by the important person.

Sure enough, all big shots are the same.

But Diana ignored her offense and took off her glasses.

"My father also died in the mine."

She looked directly into the woman's bloodshot eyes, her voice soft, unlike the ruthless ruler of Satan's court: "I know your needs, and I know what you want."

"I will make those who are responsible pay the price, whoever it may be."

The crowd fell silent.

Lestinger silently wiped the lava residue from the sword, the magic still lingering on Loran's fingertips. Estia gazed at Diana's straight back and suddenly remembered the words of the elven elder: "A true leader must not only learn to accept praise, but also the criticism, rebukes, and many other things from the people."

The miners were carried away to the hospital for treatment. Loran squinted; he sensed something amiss.

Something's not right.

Chapter 202 Everyone has their youthful and impetuous moments.

Inside the royal palace's council chamber, the flickering candlelight cast long shadows of the four people on the wall.

Diana slammed a stack of reports on the table, her gaze behind her glasses as cold as ice: "This isn't the first time. It happened once before, fifty years ago. How did you handle it then, sir?"

Fifty years ago, before Diana became consul, this matter should have been handled by Lestinger herself.

Lester scratched his head: "I smashed up his mansion, and this guy said it was his youngest son who did it, so I killed his youngest son."

"I suppose he should be the scapegoat."

Diana analyzed, and Lestinger shook her head: "Lucifer happened to be at Satan's Court at the time, so she went with me. She was able to detect that what that guy was saying wasn't a lie."

"Then why is he doing this now...?"

Diana looked puzzled, her brows furrowed as she pondered. A moment later, her expression changed, and she abruptly looked up, meeting Lorraine's gaze. She paused for two seconds, then said, "Could it be that you guessed it too?"

"perhaps."

Loran chuckled softly, then said, "He didn't really try to hide his purpose."

"Huh? What kind of riddle are you talking about?"

Lestinger looked puzzled, and Diana explained, "I suspect that the High Priest's actions were intended to draw your attention to him."

"But why?"

Lester looked puzzled: "Shouldn't he be hiding from us now? After all, he's involved with the evil god now, and Lucifer is thinking of getting rid of him."

"That's how we see it."

Diana explained, “But that’s not how they see it. They don’t know that Lord Lucifer is aware of their plans, nor do they know that we suspect they are connected to the Church of the Evil God, so they are still proceeding at their own pace.”

"So, you mean he wants us to focus our attention on him and ignore other things?"

Lesteen pondered, and Diana nodded: "Yes, and I suspect that what he wants to hide is in the mine. He wants to use the mine to hide something in order to achieve his own goals, and this mine collapse is just one part of that."

"Hidden in a private mining area... Hmph, he's certainly well hidden."

Lestinger put one foot on the stone chair and said, "So what should we do now? Should we avoid alerting them? I can't stand this!"

"Use the trick to your advantage."

Diana gave a cold laugh: "Since he wants us to focus our attention on him, then we'll start by collecting some interest from him."

--------------

The High Priest's residence is located in the eastern part of the Satanic capital, a noble district that is furthest from the mining area. The air there is free of the pungent sulfur smell of the mining area and the commoners' district, and even has the faint fragrance of flowers and the clear chirping of birds.

Lestinger clicked her tongue: "These bastards, they know how to enjoy themselves!"

"Sir, I know you've disliked this place for a long time, but please bear with it."

Diana sighed: "At least for now, most of the nobles here haven't done anything out of line."

"Humph!"

Lestinger crossed her arms and snorted coldly, "I just don't like them!"

That's true. Lestinger was a demon who rose from the bottom. Because of her talent, she overpowered the nobles with her strength and ascended to the position of ruler of Satan's court.

Despite the many twists and turns, this world is essentially a world where the strong prey on the weak. Those who cultivate magic and martial arts to a sufficient level can rise above all so-called royalty and nobility.

Like Loran, although he was just an ordinary count, he killed the duke like a chicken, and the royal family of the Isnar Empire still couldn't do anything about it.

On one hand, they were indeed seeking revenge; on the other hand, Loran was a saint.

It's simply not worth offending a saint for a duke who has little real power.
