Chapter 196 Teaching Young Wizards Patronus Charms
Chapter 196 Teaching Young Wizards Patronus Charms
As the Quidditch match ended, I slowly rode my flying broomstick towards the ground.
While the Gryffindor and Hufflepuff students were still cheering, I stumbled toward the school hospital.
No one noticed my condition as I walked towards the school clinic, my face pale.
As I was about to reach my destination, Severus, who was following behind me, came over and helped me.
"Why didn't you tell me you were overusing your magic?" Severus caught me as I was about to fall.
"I used up a lot of magic in my haste just now, and it seems like I've used up all of it. Now all I want to do is go to the school clinic to get a magic tonic." I'm still sweating profusely and pale.
“I have a magic tonic here, drink this first to calm your nerves.” Severus immediately took out a bottle of magic tonic from the lining of his clothes and handed it to me.
"Severus, I don't have the strength to drink the potion myself right now," I said to Severus with a pale smile.
Severus supported me with one hand and held the potion in the other. He used his teeth to open the stopper of the potion and put it to my mouth.
After gulping down the potion, the magic power in his body slowly began to recover.
Severus saw that my complexion was gradually regaining its color and knew that I was alright.
“That’s enough, Severus, I can stand up on my own.” I was about to pull my arm off Severus’s shoulder and walk on my own.
“Ayers, you should rest at the school hospital for the night and wait until your magic is fully replenished before leaving.” Severus didn’t let go of my hand and helped me into the school hospital.
I told Mrs. Pomfrey about my condition, and she put me on the hospital bed and covered me with a blanket.
"Severus, I want to rest for a bit." I was feeling sleepy because I had used up a lot of magic, so I said goodbye to Severus and then closed my eyes and fell asleep.
"Go to sleep, I'll wait here for you to wake up." Severus brought a chair and sat down on the edge of the bed, then took out one of his textbooks and quietly started reading.
When I woke up again, the moon was high in the sky, and I carefully sat up.
As I moved, Severus noticed that I had woken up.
"Are you hungry? I have some food here, let's make do with this." I took out a lunchbox from my portable backpack like opening a blind box, one for myself and one for Severus.
“While you were asleep, several Gryffindors and Hufflepuffs came to check on you.” Severus took the food box and started eating. I’ve already spoiled Severus’s palate; he eats whatever I give him with great enthusiasm.
"Did they finally realize something was wrong with me?" I wondered when those people had discovered my disappearance.
"It seems that the little lions didn't see you at the end of the Gryffindor victory party, so they started looking for you. Then they found you sleeping in the school hospital," Severus said calmly while eating.
"Severus, I think I'm almost fully recovered now." He checked his magic and felt that he was almost back to normal.
"Get some rest. I've already told Draco that you don't need to go back to the dorm tonight." Well, it seems that Severus has already arranged everything just because I took a nap.
The next day, I had fully recovered my magic and had just stepped out of the school hospital when Severus told me that I had to substitute for a Defense Against the Dark Arts class.
When I arrived at the classroom, I was surprised to find that it was the class of the three little ones and Draco.
In the dimly lit classroom, I stood at the front of the class, facing Harry and Draco, two students from different houses.
They all wore expressions of anticipation and nervousness, because today I was going to teach them the Patronus Charm, a powerful defensive spell that could ward off Dementors' attacks.
I cleared my throat and began to explain the principles and key points of the Guardian Charm.
“The Guardian Charm is a very complex spell. It requires you to concentrate, recall your happiest memories, and then transform that joy into magical power to summon your Guardian,” I said.
Harry and Draco listened intently, their eyes revealing unwavering determination.
I know they all yearn to master this powerful magic to protect themselves and others.
“Now, let’s begin,” I said. “First, you need to close your eyes, relax your mind and body, and then recall your happiest memories.”
Harry and Draco did as I instructed, and many more young wizards followed my teachings.
Harry remembered the happy times he had lived with me, while Draco remembered the first time I took him on a dragon ride.
“Very good. Now, transform your joyful emotions into magical power, and shout ‘Panic of God’!” I said.
Harry and Draco both took a deep breath and then shouted, "Palmtops of the Eye!"
A silver light appeared in their hands; this was their guardian deity.
The fact that they were able to produce a silver light on their first attempt already shows that they are both very talented.
This is advanced magic; as long as you improve your proficiency, you can naturally summon your own guardian beast.
Finally, just before get out of class ended, Harry's Patronus appeared—a stag, tall and majestic, radiating powerful magical energy. Draco's Patronus, on the other hand, was a snake, agile and nimble, possessing considerable attack power.
“Great! You have all successfully summoned your guardian spirits,” I said. “Now, let’s practice how to control your guardian spirits.”
I had Harry and Draco guide the Patronus to different corners of the classroom, and then have them attack some fake Dementors.
They all did an excellent job; the guardian spirits, under their control, accurately attacked their targets.
“Very good, you have mastered the basic techniques of the Guardian Charm,” I said. “However, remember that the Guardian Charm requires constant practice to unleash its full power.”
Harry and Draco both nodded; they knew that only through constant practice could one become a true wizard.
In the time that followed, Harry and Draco diligently practiced the Patronus Charm.
Their guardian deity grew stronger, and they grew more confident.
I believe that in the near future, they will definitely be able to become excellent Defense Against the Dark Arts sorcerers and contribute to the peace and tranquility of Hogwarts.
Of course, the Dementors guarding the outside are also indispensable; thank you to them for giving these young wizards a chance to grow.
