Chapter 27 The Hospital Assignment Ceremony in the Ward
Chapter 27 The Hospital Assignment Ceremony in the Ward
Suddenly, a silence fell over the ward—
Ares and the Minister of Magic exchanged glances; the Headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, standing to the side, twitched his long eyebrows and remained silent;
Like an outsider, Hermione curled up in the blankets, her bright eyes darting around as she carefully pondered the deeper meaning behind the conversation.
"Presiding over the Sorting Ceremony—a brilliant idea!"
Suddenly, Fudge burst into cheers.
"Then what are we waiting for, Dumbledore?"
The ward suddenly transformed into Fudge's stage; he jumped up from his seated position, looked at Dumbledore, and became extremely agitated.
"What are the general rules, Dumbledore... Oh, I remember now, it's the Sorting Hat—yes, that's it!"
Excuse me, Dumbledore, could you please bring me the Sorting Hat?
Who has presided over the branching ceremony in the past?
Yes, it's Minerva—where is she? I need to ask her about the specific procedures!
"My original plan was to let the children rest first..."
"Oh dear, don't be such a spoilsport, Dumbledore!"
Fudge said with great interest,
"Isn't holding the Sorting Ceremony on the last day of August a Hogwarts tradition that has lasted for thousands of years? Are you going to break that tradition?"
"You've seen it all, Connelly, the children's condition—"
Dumbledore suppressed his emotions.
"It's not suitable to move them around."
Fudge hesitated for a moment—
"How about we hold it right here in the hospital room?"
Ares's "kind reminder"
"More suitable as a newspaper headline."
"That's right, that's exactly it!"
Fudge's chubby cheeks flushed red.
"Should we call some reporters over?"
"If you can convince Bobby, I won't stop you, Connelly."
"Dumbledore said in a cold tone."
"Ahem—there's a camera here, Minister, you can borrow it."
Ares spoke in a light tone. He glanced at Dumbledore's 'gloomy' face, and a thought struck him, causing his smile to widen.
He suddenly had a brilliant idea—a brilliant idea that would allow him to get out of Dumbledore's sight as soon as possible!
Then, it seemed that everything was unstoppable.
Dumbledore, following Fudge's insistence, went to summon the four heads of the house and the Sorting Hat. Fudge's eyes, as if suddenly working, noticed a young wizard in the ward.
"Your name is—oh, Hermione Granger?"
Fudge ran to Hermione's bedside with a beaming smile.
"Granger? And that one from the Society of Extraordinary Apothecaries—oh, from the Muggle world…it's alright, that's even better—well…are you frightened? Do you have any plans for your future—I mean, which house do you plan to go to…ah, you probably don't know much about this, do you, Miss Granger? Let me tell you, Hogwarts has four houses, namely—"
After rambling on for a long time, Fudge finally let Hermione go when Dumbledore brought the Sorting Hat and the four heads of the house.
"I'm very happy with some of the photos, Ares!"
Fudge took the camera from Ares and examined it carefully; he had regained his friendliness towards Ares.
"I'm not saying this to be rude, Minister, but this decision is absolutely absurd!"
Professor McGonagall started yelling at Fudge as soon as she entered the university hospital (Dumbledore apparently hadn't told her who the suggestion came from).
"No student graduating class has ever held their ordination ceremony in a hospital ward before!"
"Be bold enough to break with tradition, Minerva!"
Fudge took Ares's camera and walked out of the ward with a smile to "confront" Professor McGonagall.
"Would you like some sunflower seeds, Miss Granger?"
Ares suddenly perked up again. He pulled out a handful of snacks from somewhere and watched the commotion in the public ward with a smile.
He also noticed Hermione Granger, who was sweating profusely from Fudge's sudden enthusiasm.
"Oh—well, thank you, Professor Delfino."
Hermione Granger, who would later become the intellectual backbone of the "Iron Triangle," is at least for now a sensitive little witch.
She felt embarrassed to refuse Professor Delfino's offer, so she accepted the sunflower seeds—but dared not crack them open, and could only hold them in her hand.
Therefore, when the most powerful figure in the British wizarding world—the Minister for Magic—is determined to do something, even a respected wizard like Albus Dumbledore cannot easily stop him.
Things ultimately went according to Cornelius Fudge's plan.
"I think everyone is ready!"
The beds in the public ward were rearranged to create a 'stage' for Fudge, and the doors to each private room were also left open.
"Filch, are you ready with the camera?"
"Ready, Minister!"
"The most detestable and ugly person at Hogwarts—the castle caretaker," Argus Filch shouted in a high-pitched voice, raising his camera, looking quite proud of himself.
"Alright, let's begin!"
Fudge took a deep breath, his eyes shining with a certain 'sense of mission'.
Hannah Abbott!
Hannah Abbott, bed number eight, please come to the ward now—
What? Her ankle's swollen... And you two little gentlemen, could you help her to the branch hospital...? Oh, just grit your teeth and bear it... It'll be over in three seconds—Hufflepuff? —Go on, go back to your bed... Next up is—
Susan Burns... Oh, Amelia's niece—to be honest, your aunt isn't easy to deal with, of course, I don't mean she's inflexible... Another Hufflepuff!
Terry Booth-Ravenclaw;
Mandy Broglie-Ravenclaw;
.....
Hermione Granger—Oh, Miss Granger is in her hospital room, so…oh, you came out by yourself? What are you doing with those sunflower seeds? —Gryffindor!
Longbottom—Neville Longbottom...Come on, kid, don't be nervous—Oh dear, your toad looks a little indigestion...Gryffindor too?
......
Finally... Harry Potter!
"Oh, which house do you think Mr. Potter will be in—how exciting... Oh, Minerva, go check if the Sorting Hat is asleep... Gryffindor... Well done, Mr. Potter, I'm not surprised at all!"
"If you ask me what I think of this scene, Albus!"
Forced to check on the Sorting Hat, Professor McGonagall returned to Dumbledore's side with a grim face.
"I'll tell you, I've had enough of our ridiculous Minister of Magic, Albus!"
Professor McGonagall said angrily.
The farce continued. Dumbledore's azure eyes swept over Ares's sickroom, and his eyelids twitched involuntarily.
He saw Ares move a stool to the door of his ward, watching the hospital admission ceremony with great interest while enthusiastically eating sunflower seeds!
Was my decision... too hasty?
Looking at Ares like this, Dumbledore suddenly had a bad feeling.
To rashly...bring Ares Delphinor back to Hogwarts as the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor?
