Chapter 1198: Can’t I Just Come to See You?
Along with the group of senior staff from key projects who were about to leave, everyone thought at the same time: Fuck!Snow‑white documents scattered all over the floor, and that little girl even accidentally stepped on them, leaving her shoe print blatantly stamped on top!
Which secretary has balls this big? Does she want to get fired?
"Su Li?" Feng Huaijin was just about to lose his temper when the familiar faint fragrance hit his nose, instantly dousing his fire.
How did she end up here?
Su Li had never liked coming to his company, unless something important forced her to.
Feng Huaijin reached out and pulled her into his arms, gave his personal assistant a nod, and took Su Li by the hand toward his own office.
The assistant dutifully squatted down to pick up the documents, then called out to the senior execs who were still staring dumbly to the side, "Aren’t you all going back to work? If Mr. Feng asks later..."
As soon as he said that, the whole group scattered like the wind.
Right, all of Mr. Feng’s gentleness is for his fiancée, not for them.
"What brings you here? Is it because of... the family of that male student who dropped dead?" Feng Huaijin led Su Li into the office and asked with a smile.
When he looked back at her, Su Li’s face was a bit pale, and her pair of violet eyes were brimming with tears.
Feng Huaijin’s expression shifted slightly. He leaned closer and asked again, "Because Tuanzi went back to school? It’s not like you won’t ever see him again. It’s the same as sending a kid off to a boarding school. What’s there to be so reluctant about?"
In his view, aside from some uncontrollable factors over there with Tuanzi, the kid going back to class was basically a great thing worthy of worldwide celebration.
Su Li bit her lip; her lips were bitten so hard they turned white, as if the skin might break.
Feng Huaijin suddenly raised his hand and caught her chin, his fingers forcing her lips open. The rough pads of his fingertips pressed against her teeth as he said calmly, "If you want to bite, bite me. Don’t bite yourself."
Su Li let out a muffled hum, still couldn’t bear to bite him, and finally let go.
She looked at him, then suddenly buried herself in his arms, wrapping her arms tightly around his waist.
Feng Huaijin had already sensed something was wrong. His big hand, as usual, lightly hooked around her slender waist, his chin resting on the top of her head. His deep, magnetic voice was even gentler than usual. "What’s wrong?"
Su Li sniffled. "Can’t I come just because I wanted to see you?"
Feng Huaijin chuckled low, loosened his hold on her a little, and lifted his hand to gently wipe away the tears at the corners of her eyes with his fingertip. "What happened?"
Su Li absolutely didn’t dare tell him about going to the hospital to have her eyes checked, and kept reminding herself she was overthinking it. Doctors always liked to exaggerate conditions.
She sank into his arms, her voice a little hoarse. "Nothing happened. It’s just that Tuanzi went back, and you’re not home either. There’s no one at home at all."
Feng Huaijin retorted, "The butler and the servants aren’t people? What are they then, stray cats and dogs?"
Su Li angrily pinched his arm, then stomped on his foot without the slightest politeness. "How is that the same? That’s not what I mean."
What she meant was family, her own people.
There was laughter in Feng Huaijin’s eyes. He leaned closer, resting his forehead against hers, brushing a few strands of fringe, his voice gentle. "So you’re saying you missed me?"
Su Li’s cheeks flushed pink. Her watery eyes locked on him, which was as good as admitting it.
That charming, adorable look of hers instantly shattered all his defenses; he wanted nothing more than to offer her everything.
Before Su Li could react, the man’s lips were already pressing down firmly on hers.
Pushed by him, her feet involuntarily stepped back. Just as she was about to bump into the desk, an arm came across between them, keeping the soft flesh of her waist from slamming into the hard edge of the table.
