Chapter 108 Talking to My Daughter Alone
Chapter 108 Talking to My Daughter Alone
After calming down, Rong Shu released Meimei and said, "Meimei's mother has always loved Meimei, but she had no choice but to leave Meimei. She will definitely come back to find Meimei."
Meimei looked at Rong Shu, raised her little hand to wipe away the tears on her cheeks, and asked worriedly, "Why is Aunt Evelynn crying?"
Rong Shu held Mei Mei's little hand and said, "Auntie is fine. Mei Mei wants to draw, so Auntie will draw with you."
Meimei nodded happily and hummed in agreement.
The man at the studio door turned and left the room silently.
Rong Shu accompanied Mei Mei as she painted in the art studio.
Meimei's unhappiness from just now has vanished.
Sheng Tingchen was sitting on the sofa in the living room downstairs when he received a call from Su Qingzhi.
"Since Meimei has someone with her today, Qingyue and I won't go to the horse farm."
Sheng Tingchen hummed in agreement. "You should spend some time with her."
Su Qingzhi didn't say anything in the end, only saying, "I understand."
I hung up the phone.
Sheng Tingchen put down his phone and glanced upstairs.
noon.
Liu Lihua went upstairs to Meimei's room and said, "Miss, it's time for lunch."
Meimei sat alone on the sofa watching cartoons, holding a rabbit doll in her hands, tugging at the rabbit's fluffy little ears.
Rong Shu is in the bathroom right now.
"Grandma Liu, please bring lunch up to me and Aunt Evelynn."
Liu Lihua stepped forward, sat down next to Meimei, and said, "The master is waiting for Meimei at the restaurant."
Meimei is still angry with her father, so she won't go downstairs.
Liu Lihua added, "Meimei, Aunt Qingyue is so good to you, how could you say such things to Aunt Qingyue in front of an outsider?"
"You haven't known Aunt Evelynn for very long, Meimei. Be careful, she might be after you with ulterior motives. What if she hurts you?"
"..."
Before Liu Lihua could finish speaking, Meimei's expression suddenly changed, and she said angrily, "You're not allowed to talk about Aunt Evelynn like that! Aunt Evelynn would never hurt me! Get out! Get out! I hate you now!"
Meimei shoved Liu Lihua, telling her to leave.
Liu Lihua did not expect Meimei to be so emotional.
Rong Shu came out of the bathroom and saw this scene.
"Alright, alright, Grandma Liu, go out."
Liu Lihua turned and walked towards the door with a grim expression. When she saw Rong Shu, she gave her a resentful sidelong glance.
Although Rong Shu didn't hear what Liu Lihua said to Meimei, she could tell from Meimei's words that Liu Lihua must have been gossiping about her in front of Meimei.
This old nanny really hasn't changed at all.
It was one thing for her to make false accusations against Sheng Tingchen before, but now she's talking nonsense in front of such a young child as Meimei.
Rong Shu's gaze turned cold the moment she looked at Liu Lihua.
She walked up to Meimei and quickly calmed her down.
Liu Lihua went down to the living room.
Sheng Tingchen looked at her, "Where's Meimei?"
Liu Lihua said, "This Evelynn is really something. The young lady trusts her so much. I just wanted to remind the young lady not to trust an outsider too much, but the young lady defended her and started to get angry. Sir, we really can't let the young lady continue to associate with this Evelynn. The young lady used to be such a good child."
She took care of the young lady wholeheartedly and watched her grow up. The young lady was sensible and polite and never lost her temper with her. Now, she was actually being mean to her because of an outsider.
Sheng Tingchen frowned, his voice turning cold as he said, "Just do your job and don't say things you shouldn't say in front of Meimei."
Liu Lihua looked at the man's cold expression.
She instantly understood what he meant.
He dared not say another word and simply replied, "Yes."
Sheng Tingchen got up and went upstairs.
We arrived at Meimei's room.
Meimei leaned against the woman obediently, watching Rong Shu braid the doll's hair.
I saw Sheng Tingchen.
Rong Shu paused in her movements.
Meimei looked up at her father, then turned her head away and ignored him.
Sheng Tingchen stepped forward, looked at Rong Shu, and said, "I want to talk to my daughter alone."
Rong Shu glanced at the man but didn't answer. She then said softly to Mei Mei, "Auntie will wait for you outside."
Meimei nodded.
Rong Shu handed the doll to Mei Mei, got up and walked towards the door, closing it behind her.
She went downstairs.
I saw Liu Lihua.
Liu Lihua prepared to walk towards the kitchen.
"Stop right there."
Liu Lihua stopped in her tracks and looked up at Rong Shu's cold face. Her heart skipped a beat. "What are you going to do?"
Rong Shu slowly walked up to Liu Lihua, her cold eyes looking down at her. "I just want to ask you what your status is in this family? What is your relationship to your young lady?"
Liu Lihua's expression was unpleasant. "What does this have to do with Miss Evelynn? But her relationship with the young lady is definitely closer than with an outsider like you."
Rong Shu said, "It seems you don't understand. Let me tell you, you're just a maid in this house. Don't think that just because you've been taken care of by your master for a long time, you have the right to lecture him."
"You... you're still better than an outsider like you... ah!"
Rong Shu raised her hand and slapped her.
Liu Lihua covered her cheek, staring wide-eyed at Rong Shu in disbelief. "You...you dare to hit me."
"You talked badly about me behind my back, shouldn't I hit you?"
Liu Lihua was furious. She had been in the Sheng family for so many years, and even the eldest daughter of the An family treated her with great courtesy.
How dare this woman, who I don't know where she came from, hit her?
She lunged forward, ready to retaliate.
Rong Shu tiptoed to the side and hooked her foot.
"Ouch!"
Liu Lihua, her old bones slammed to the ground, screamed in pain.
Wu Fang and the other maids in the restaurant heard the noise and quickly went to the living room, where they saw Liu Lihua lying motionless on the floor.
"Lihua!"
Wu Fang and the maid quickly stepped forward to help Liu Lihua up.
Just as Wu Fang was about to reprimand Rong Shu, the elevator doors opened.
Sheng Tingchen carried Meimei out of the room. Meimei's eyes were red, but she had calmed down.
"Sir," Wu Fang called out.
Sheng Tingchen looked at Liu Lihua, who was being supported and whose face was pale, and then at the woman who looked fearless and calm. He said to Wu Fang, "Take Aunt Liu downstairs to rest."
"Sir, she..."
Wu Fang continued, asking what she had complained about.
The man's dark eyes narrowed slightly, and Wu Fang dared not say anything more. She and another maid helped Liu Lihua turn around and leave.
Meimei got off Sheng Tingchen, reached out and took Rong Shu's hand, saying, "Aunt Evelynn, let's go have lunch first."
Rong Shu glanced at the man, then followed Mei Mei to the restaurant.
Meimei pulled out a chair for Rong Shu, "Aunt Evelynn, please sit here."
Rong Shu picked up Mei Mei and settled her in the high chair.
Sheng Tingchen entered the restaurant and sat in the main seat.
"Aunt Evelynn, after we had lunch, we went to the horse farm. It was just me, Dad, and Aunt Evelynn, the three of us."
Meimei spoke to Rong Shu in a very happy tone.
Between Meimei and An Qingyue, Sheng Tingchen still chose Meimei, but this does not mean that he did not value An Qingyue.
Rong Shu could only agree, saying, "Okay."
Eating lunch.
There was no interaction between Rong Shu and Sheng Tingchen. Rong Shu didn't even want to look at the man, and Mei Mei kept talking to them.
Meimei keenly noticed this, and looking at her father, she said with dissatisfaction, "Dad, why don't you talk to Aunt Evelynn?"
Rong Shu was taken aback.
